In a fervent address in Agartala, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha vehemently criticized the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), denouncing their 35-year rule in the state. Dr. Saha accused the CPI-M of depriving the people of Tripura and emphasized the need for reform.

CPI-M’s Alleged Deception and Poverty Focus

Dr. Manik Saha accused the CPI-M of misleading and impoverishing the populace during its prolonged rule. He questioned the party’s accomplishments, asserting that their primary agenda was to deceive the people while maintaining power through keeping them impoverished.

Highlighting the current government’s efforts, Dr. Saha pointed out the increase in social pension, making Tripura the only state in India where the government provides Rs 2000 as a social pension. This move aims to uplift the economically weaker sections of society.

Addressing the violence during the CPI-M’s regime, the Tripura CM mentioned that many people had to flee the state for their safety. He affirmed that the present BJP-led Tripura government does not condone such practices.

Dr. Saha contrasted the recent peaceful conduct of the 2023 assembly election with the CPI-M’s history of “organized rigging” during elections. He credited the peaceful election to the trust the people have in the current administration.

The Chief Minister highlighted the launch of the web portal “Amar Sarkar,” allowing people to file complaints with pictures, aiming to address grievances promptly. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to transparency and responsiveness.

Reiterating the commitment of the government, Dr. Manik Saha expressed confidence in delivering the benefits of various schemes to all sections of the population impartially.

Expressing confidence in the people’s support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Dr. Saha indicated their readiness to strengthen Modi’s leadership.
