Tripura Government to Recruit Over 6,000 Special Executives

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said that 6,067 special executives would be appointed in the state to assist the police force.
Addressing an event of the National Health Mission (NHM) programme, Saha on Thursday said the move would boost the security system in the northeastern state.

The special executives will be like Special Police Officers (SPOs) who were recruited to assist the state police during the Left Front regime, when militancy was at its peak in the late 90s.

At present there are around 3000 SPOs in the state who are paid Rs 6,600 per month.

In the NHM program, the Chief Minister also said that 3,108 candidates who have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) will be recruited in the education department to overcome the shortage of teachers in many government-run schools.

Sources in the department said they would be appointed before Diwali.
