Tripura’s political landscape witnessed fresh turbulence as a slogan war erupted between Amara Bangali and the Tipra Motha Party (TMP). The controversy began when Amara Bangali raised the slogan, “Tripura Malik ke? Agartala Malik ke? Tripura Malik Amara Bangali.” The provocative declaration sparked immediate reactions and strong counter-slogans from leaders of the Tipra Motha Party.

In response, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) Purna Chandra Jamatia of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) asserted, “Agartala Owner is Bubagra/Tiprasa, Teliamura Owner is Bubagra/Tiprasa, Udaipur Owner is Tiprasa.” The exchange of slogans has ignited widespread political debate, with discussions intensifying across different regions of the state.

The slogan war underscores the growing tension among political groups vying for influence and identity in Tripura. Leaders from both sides are attempting to mobilize supporters, and the rhetoric has energized grassroots discussions.

Amidst the heated exchanges, Tipra Motha Party continued its organizational activities on the ground. A VC-wise joining program was held at Tarbang Kami, Kowaimura VC, Killa, where 16 families comprising 25 voters officially joined TMP, leaving the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The event was marked by enthusiasm and unity, as the new members pledged their support to the movement.

Party leaders extended a warm welcome to the newly joined families, highlighting that their decision strengthened the growing Thansa (unity) of Tipra Motha. They stressed that the party’s fight for the rights and identity of the indigenous Tiprasa people would continue with determination, regardless of challenges such as weather or time.

The joining program reflects TMP’s strategy to expand its grassroots support by bringing in families and communities who resonate with its cause. Leaders noted that the addition of new members symbolizes trust in the party’s vision and strengthens its commitment to pursuing rights and recognition for the indigenous population.

Observers believe that the developments highlight not only the intensifying competition among political groups but also the evolving dynamics of voter allegiance in the state. With identity politics gaining prominence in Tripura, the exchange of slogans and grassroots mobilization efforts are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the political narrative in the coming months.
