Terrorist organizations are trying to spread themselves in the Indian state of Assam, but the administration is trying to sabotage their plans. Assam Police has arrested two other people in Barpeta district who are alleged to be linked to the terrorist organizations Al-Qaeda (AQIS) and Anshrullah Bangla Group (ABT). Barpeta SP Amitabh Sinha told news agency ANI that people have been arrested for having links with AQIS (Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent) and ABT.

So far 37 people have been arrested in Assam on charges of being associated with AQIS/ABT. Since Monday morning, the district administration and police have launched a campaign to vacate a madrasa in the Barpeta district. SP Sinha said that the madrassa has been constructed illegally on government land and two people arrested have also been found to be associated with this madrasa.

Meanwhile, the district administration and police on Monday morning demolished a madrasa in the name of Sheikhul Hind Mahmudul Hasan Jamiul Huda Islamic Academy located at Dhakliya Para in Barpeta district after being found a terrorist suspect.

According to the police, two Bangladeshi terrorists belonging to AQIS/ABT were staying in this madrasa, out of which one Mohammad Suman alias Saiful Islam has been arrested by the police, but another terrorist is still absconding. The police have also arrested Mahmunur Rashid, the principal of the madrasa.

Akbar Ali and his brother Abul Kalam Azad, who helped both Bangladeshi terrorists staying in the madrasa in illegal activities, were arrested by the Barpeta police last night. Heavy security forces have been deployed at the spot during the evacuation operation of the madrasa.
