Deendayal Upadhyay-Gramin Kaushal Yojana (DDU-GKY) is a placement-linked skill development program by the government of India. A survey reveals that more than 180 million or 69% of the country’s youth population between the ages of 18 and 34 years live in its rural area of India and are from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. The Youth with no means of employment or marginal employment is estimated at 55 million.

Rural youth should take optimum advantage of this program. As Deendayal Upadhyay-Gramin Kaushal Yojana (DDU-GKY) is in implementation in 28 states and UTs, across 689 districts.
In Nagaland, as many as 2,323 people have been trained under Deendayal Upadhyay-Gramin Kaushal Yojana (DDU-GKY) from 2014 to February 2022. Out of which 901 have been provided placement. Manipur has 2,958 trained candidates of which 1,049 have been provided placement. Assam has the highest number of trained candidates with 54,319, out of which 33,127 have been provided placement. On 30 August 2022 9,712 youths have been trained and the number of candidates working in the different organizations is estimated at 3,945. Meghalaya with 2,633 trained candidates of which 1197 have been provided placement.
In the world, All rational youths for their survival and to lead happy lives want employment. And the employments are of two types– self-employment and wage employment. Under Deendayal Upadhyay-Gramin Kaushal Yojana (DDU GKY) many people have got the opportunity to work in big companies and also in foreign companies to fulfill their needs and to stand on their own because of which this campaign is praised by many big authorities.
