Five New Colleges In Tripura


The Education Minister of Tripura Ratan Lal Nath announced on Friday that they are planning to set up five new colleges of which three are Government College and two private colleges this month.

While addressing the conference the education minister said as the BJP-IPFT government came to power in 2018, some major decisions were taken to develop the education system. The setup of colleges in Public Private Partnership (PPP), inviting renowned education groups to invest in Tripura.

Nath said “We have got two colleges being set up at jirania and Kakraban in the PPP model. The first one is a law college. We shall have 33 percent reservation for free admission from the government in both.”

Three other general degree college is being set up by the government in Old Agartala Rural Development (RD) block an English Medium College in West Tripura and a general degree college in Panisagar in North Tripura.

New colleges are being set up in renovated old buildings of schools and higher education infrastructure.

The Education Minister said by addressing the issue of education quality he said: “the new colleges are being set up to facilitate the spread of higher education, reduced pressure on colleges in Agartala, and ensure that potential students stayed out of the ambit of higher education.”

At the start the colleges will start with integrated courses for law and commerce disciplines for the humanities discipline like Bengali, English, Political science, history, Education, Sanskrit, economics, and sociology will be offered.
