National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala, Tripura, has opened applications for various project-based positions, specifically for the role of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the project titled “Microbial assessment for developing inoculums for artificially infecting agarwood trees for sustainable agar cultivation in Tripura and the north-east region” within the Department of Chemical Engineering.

Details of the Recruitment:

  • Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
  • Number of Posts: 1
  • Monthly Emoluments:
    • INR 15,500/- for Year 1 & 2, and INR 17,500/- for Year 3 onwards (for candidates without NET/GATE qualification or equivalent)
    • INR 31,000/- for Year 1 & 2, and INR 35,000/- for Year 3 onwards (for candidates with NET/GATE qualification or equivalent)

Essential Qualification:

  • First Class Master’s Degree in Life Science/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Botany/Biochemistry or related subjects with hands-on skills/knowledge of Microbial isolation and characterization, and Molecular Biology/Biotechnological Techniques.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Candidates with experience in skills/knowledge related to plant biotechnology/culture will be preferred.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with publications in Scopus/SCI indexed journals in the related field.
  • Candidates with experience in the related field will be prioritized.
  • Candidates with NET/GATE/Equivalent qualification will be given preference.
  • Willingness for field visits and traveling if needed.
