Tripura celebrates a proud achievement as North Tripura district wins the title of Best Performing District under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN). The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, selected the district for its outstanding performance in tribal welfare and development.
President Droupadi Murmu presented the award during a national ceremony, recognizing North Tripura’s remarkable progress in implementing welfare schemes for tribal communities.
District Administration Expresses Gratitude
Receiving the award, District Magistrate Chandi Chandra, IAS, expressed her gratitude and pride on social media. She wrote:
- “This is a testament to the great work done by the District Welfare Officer (DWO), Block Development Officers (BDOs), and all line departments under the guidance of the Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tripura.”
She also expressed gratitude to the Self Help Group (SHG) ‘didis’ of Damcherra for presenting her with a handwoven Bru Rignai set, the traditional attire of Tripura’s tribal community. Wearing it proudly, she represented the state’s rich culture and vibrant traditions at the national event.
