Gurugram, June 14, 2025 – Renowned international kickboxer Sudhir Saxena was honoured today as the Guest of Honour at a Blood Donation Camp hosted by REC India Ltd at its Corporate Office in Gurugram. The event, led by REC’s CMD and CEO Shri Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, marked a meaningful intersection of sportsmanship, civic responsibility, and public health awareness.
The blood donation camp, held at the Ground Floor of the REC Auditorium (E-Block), brought together REC employees, local donors, health professionals, and social activists, all united by a shared goal: contributing to life-saving healthcare initiatives. Sudhir’s presence as a celebrated athlete and social influencer elevated the event’s impact, sending a strong message on the importance of giving back to society.
A Champion on the Mat and in the Community
Sudhir Saxena, known for his fierce spirit in the kickboxing ring, has recently made India proud by winning a bronze medal at the Asian Kickboxing Championships in Cambodia and a silver medal at the 4th India Open Kickboxing Championship in Delhi. However, beyond these victories, he has distinguished himself as a champion of humanity, known for his philanthropic work across India.
Hailing from the village of Lahasani in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, Sudhir’s journey is one of discipline, courage, and deep-rooted values. Having worked with various NGOs for rural development and health awareness, he exemplifies how sport can be a vehicle for social change.
Applause from REC Leadership
Speaking at the event, Shri Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, praised Sudhir’s achievements and social initiatives:
“Sudhir Saxena is not just a sports icon; he is a man of purpose. His commitment to service and health awareness makes him a true role model for today’s generation. We are honoured to host him at REC India today.”
In his address, Sudhir expressed gratitude and urged everyone to view blood donation as a patriotic and humanitarian act:
“A unit of blood might seem small, but to someone in need, it’s everything. I’m grateful to REC India Ltd for this honour and for championing such a life-saving cause.”
Backed by Family, Friends, and Foundations
Sudhir’s success is firmly rooted in the love and support of his family and well-wishers. He credits his father, Mr. Suresh Saxena, for instilling discipline and moral strength in him, and his wife, Priyanka Gautam, for her unwavering support throughout his personal and professional journey.
He also thanked his close friends and supporters, and notably acknowledged the Gauravi Foundation, led by Mahesh Verma and Summit Chaudhry, whose support has been instrumental in enabling him to pursue both sporting excellence and social work.
Earlier this year, Punjab National Bank (PNB) also recognized Sudhir’s achievements, felicitating him on Republic Day—a moment that underscored the power of institutional support in nurturing athletic talent.
More Than Just a Guest of Honour
Sudhir’s participation in today’s blood donation camp was more than ceremonial. He took time to engage with donors, share his personal stories, and speak to the youth about the value of discipline, physical fitness, and compassion.
“Titles and medals are temporary,” Sudhir told a group of student volunteers, “but the impact we make on others—that stays.”
Building a Culture of Service
As Sudhir continues to prepare for upcoming international competitions, his commitment to social causes remains steadfast. His involvement with events like REC’s blood donation camp highlights a growing movement in India where athletes are embracing their roles as public leaders, educators, and changemakers.
Sudhir Saxena stands as a powerful reminder that true greatness is measured not just in victories, but in the lives one touches along the way.
