Tripura Police made a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking with the apprehension of a woman in Agartala City’s Guala Basti, near the Khejur Bagan area.

Suspect Identification

The arrested woman, identified as Kala Devi, was reportedly deeply entrenched in the drug trade for an extended period, despite previous arrests and subsequent bail.

Dr. Kiran Kumar, the Superintendent of Police for the West District, addressed the media, disclosing that the arrest followed confidential information regarding drug peddling originating from a shop in Guala Basti.

Upon raiding her residence, law enforcement officers confiscated approximately 33 grams of heroin, along with 100 small vials and 18,000 empty ones.

During interrogation, Kala Devi revealed additional names allegedly involved in the illicit trade, prompting authorities to pursue further investigations and arrests.

The seized narcotics were estimated to hold a street value of around Rs 4 lakh.
