The “Goria and Traditional Food Festival” has kicked off in Tripura, showcasing the rich cultural diversity and traditional cuisine of the state. The three-day festival, organised by the Tripura government, is being held in Agartala with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
The festival aims to promote the diverse and unique culture of the state’s indigenous communities, including the Goria community, who are famous for their vibrant festivals and rituals.
The festival offers a variety of traditional dishes, including bamboo shoot pickle, fish curry, pork with bamboo shoot, and various sweets made with rice, coconut and jaggery.
In addition to food, the festival also features various cultural programmes, including traditional dances and music performances, as well as stalls showcasing the state’s handicrafts and handloom products.
The festival has attracted a large number of visitors, including locals and tourists, who have come to experience the rich cultural heritage and mouth-watering cuisine of Tripura.
