In sync with the nationwide sentiment, the Tripura Pradesh Congress organized Padyatras (Foot Marches) across all nine organizational districts of the party to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra.’ This remarkable journey, initiated by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, aimed to bridge divides and promote unity among the people. The Padyatras, led by prominent Congress leaders, reaffirmed their commitment to addressing key issues affecting the nation.

Leaders at the Forefront: Tripura Pradesh Congress President Asish Kumar Saha, along with Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman and AICC secretary Szarita Laitphlang, took the lead in these Padyatras. The rallies commenced from the Pradesh Congress headquarters in the heart of the capital city, navigating various routes across the city.

Positive Impact of ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’: Speaking to the media, TPCC President Asish Saha emphasized the profound impact of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra.’ This extensive journey, spanning over four thousand kilometers from Kanyakumari in the South to Kashmir in the North, fostered unity and friendship among the masses while invigorating party activists and supporters.

Saha underlined that the yatra had raised pertinent issues like unemployment, soaring essential commodity prices, cronyism, divisive policies, and national security threats posed by Chinese aggression. He stressed the importance of addressing these issues promptly, urging people to comprehend the prevailing situation and unite against the BJP and its divisive policies.

Revitalizing Congress Workers: Szarita Laitphlang, while addressing reporters, highlighted how the yatra had rejuvenated Congress workers and instilled confidence among the common citizens. She emphasized that the Congress remained the only alternative capable of safeguarding democracy and the nation’s integrity.

A Response to Hate and Exploitation: The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ served as a robust response to hate-driven politics, political manipulation, and misadventures instigated by the ruling BJP government at the Center and in BJP-ruled states, including Tripura. Laitphlang emphasized that the yatra aimed to counter divisive forces and promote a more inclusive and harmonious India.

Mass Participation: The Padyatras witnessed a substantial turnout of Congress workers, including women and youth, underscoring the continued support for the party’s initiatives.

Teliamura District’s Initiative: In a parallel event, the Teliamura District Congress organized a rally under the banner “Jurbe Bharat Jitbe India” to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra.’ District Congress President Shabd Kumar Jamatia, former MLA Ashok Kumar Baidya, along with other leaders, workers, and supporters, actively participated in this meaningful Padyatra.

The Padyatras organized by the Tripura Pradesh Congress not only celebrated the one-year milestone of ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ but also reinvigorated the commitment of Congress leaders and workers to address pressing national issues. It highlighted the party’s role as an alternative to safeguarding the nation’s democracy and unity, countering divisive politics, and promoting inclusivity and harmony.
